How to spot fake purses, handbags and knockoffs
- Read the fine print of the ad of the handbag or purse you are buying and print the page if possible. If the handbag is a replica or a knockoff, it should be stated in the fine print of the ad or the terms on the sellers website.
- Use common sense! If you know that an original luxury handbag retails for around $650. and you see it listed for $39.95, it's probably a knockoff. Not that there is anything wrong with a knockoff. There are some nice replicas out there. Why not save hundreds of dollars!
- Do your homework! If you have to have the authentic version of the handbag or purse you desire, research the seller. If buying from an auction site like eBay, check the seller reputation. Read up in forums, discussion boards and blogs and see what others have to say about certain sellers. You can also do a Google search on a seller to research them and see other consumer reviews and experiences.
- Contact the seller. Ask questions.
